...it takes time to make a video, but what is time ? it seems to be a very flexible 'something' ...
see my new video i have finally finished, it's more or less a dance-film and i call it "valse triste ?" - because of the music
though it isn't a question, it is the answer and it is a wonderful gift, a blessing

...wer weiß denn schon, was das bedeutet...
ehrlich gesagt wäre ich gerade lieber in Indien oder wo ganz anders : da wo es warm ist !

alles was existiert beinhaltet auch immer das Gegenteil : es gibt keinen Ton ohne Stille, keine Bewegung ohne Stillstand, kein Loslassen ohne Halten, keine Freude ohne Schmerz, keine Wärme ohne Kälte... und dazwischen liegen unendlich viele Fassetten
es ist vielleicht ganz gut, sich das immer mal wieder bewusst zu machen,
um das, was man scheinbar gerade nicht hat, trotzdem zu sehen

it was a big surprise to see so many swans ( they must have been at least a hundred ) on a large lake where i stoped for a short break on my way into the "green heart of germany", to this very little town (far away from everything) to be there for two long weeks: forrest, river, clean air, the sky at night full of stars and  no computer, a good place - actually - for holidays, to relax...

fortunately there are always many ideas and possibilities to fill the time with more or less necessary actions:
here is an exemple for karma yoga ( that's the 'garden defender' version of virabhadrasana ;) naja, apple trees also have a right to get some sun

 one week for me and no projects, except one: to see something I haven't seen bevore...hhhm... : Scandinavia ! have never been there, now I'll take the chance to discover it's beauty, maybe...don't know where exactly I'll go, it's all open...I just want to stay where I like it and leave if I want to see something else, that's it  :-)

I don't know why it's called like that or which Basilius or Vassili it was who gave it this pretty name
...I just know, when ever I see cornflowers I realize that I like them very much : mainly because of their unmistakable color and also maybe because they remind me so much to my childhood and summer ...summer in the Ural : dry and very warming :-)
here in this part of Europe summer is different : not that warm, not that steady
...but I do not want to say something or complain...this year the smell of summer is in the air !

it's about...

...two years ago as we performed RED in 'Waterfalls' - that special show in the swimming-bath where the premiere couldn't happen, because of a heavy thunderstorm, that we were showing four days later to a very friendly, quite big audience... and only now, maybe three weeks ago, I finally got the footage of this piece that means so much to me... but it makes no difference - long ago or not : it feels like it's been yesterday
...and now since all dances, skirts and what ever else had to be done in the last time are prepared and 'on their way', I'll take some time to make a video : as beautiful as the performance was ...? ...no, that won't work, of course ...  let's say then : I'll try to work out a good video from those partly very beautiful takes :-)

einfach nur gut !

...eine Idee, ein kurzer inhaltlicher Austausch - ohne viele Worte, die gleiche gedankliche Ebene und man ist direkt an dem Punkt, wo so viel Raum und Freiheit ist, dass ganz viel Neues entsteht...

eigentlich kann ich mir nichts Schöneres vorstellen - in jeder Hinsicht ! umso mehr weiß ich es zu schätzen

Licht und Schatten

...very different from 'Mira' (where I was realy telling a story), these videos are quite abstract :
following the feeling that's engendered by the music and the light-shadow-idea I try to find uncommon, impressive pictures and view points to connect them with the music; the idea is to make several versions ( step by step I work on them now ), to select the best and send it to a competition...have never done something like that, so why not
...but actually thats not important at all, it gives me just a bit of a push to do it now... important is the whole process : to learn how this program works, where I have to think three-demensional in a way and to play with varied possibilities...exciting :-)

...the story starts somewhere else :

first my sweet little camera got blind or short-sighted like this :
( o.k. that can be an option too, but ...)
so I bought a new camera, even smaller and better and I was very pleased with the takes,
not so much my cutting-program that stopped all its activities without telling me why...it took me a while to find out the reason for this strange 'attitude', but meanwhile I understood some about video-files, codecs and these things (and it is also very good for me to read many texts in English, because I really want to learn it
and if they are such interesting descriptions, all the more...)
at the end it was clear, that I had to buy a new program too and ...it's realy good : fast and good-structured, with many possibilities, interesting to discover and fun to learn how to use them.



and actually, all of that only happened, because I have a new small project :   two short videos

music: Fabian Russ, dance: Paolo Fossa & ... tssss ... don't know yet  :-) maybe

next to Duisburg is a site, it must have been a steel-works ore something like that, there we'll meet with Paolo for the takes, I think it'll be interesting ( many steel constructions) ... hopefully inspiring
and I'm looking forward to it

...mit den Augen denken

...über drei Ecken bin ich heute morgen auf die Seite des Fotographen Andreas Reiner gekommen, dessen Bilder ich wirklich beeindruckend finde

ich bin nicht so viel gereist in meinem Leben, wie ich es mir vielleicht gewünscht hätte, trotzdem habe ich einiges gesehen, gerade auf dem Balkan oder in Osteuropa und ... wie soll ich sagen : was auf diesen Bildern zu sehen ist, ist für mich nicht unvorstellbar
gerade deswegen hat es mich sehr berührt

...ins kalte Wasser
ist doch immer wieder sehr erfrischend
denn man hat nicht viel Zeit, um darüber nachzudenken
ob man eintauchen möchte oder nicht
man tut es einfach,
und wenn man sich bewegt
wird einem hoffentlich auch warm
und man fängt an zu schwimmen...

nein, nein, gar nicht wahr:
ich mag kaltes Wasser überhaupt nicht
und würde sicher nur im Notfall freiwillig hineinspringen

aber ich mag Herausforderungen
und zwar solche
wo ich gar nicht weiß, wie ich sie bewältige
oder wo es überhaupt hingeht

das finde ich spannend !
manchmal ist es sogar sehr bewegend ...


Yoga, Yoga ...hier ist es ein bisschen anders, da habe ich vielleicht länger gewartet als sonst und es ist nicht wirklich ein Sprung ins kalte Wasser; endlich hab' ich genug Wissen um sicher zu sein, dass ich gute Stunden  geben kann ... und mir steht noch so viel bevor, was ich noch lernen kann: interessant, spannend, tiefgreifend und faszinierend; so vieles worauf ich mich freuen kann... u.a. Indien ! :-)

...es ist schon eine schräge Idee, 

ein Stück zu machen, für einen Ort, an dem es weder Platz zum Tanzen noch Platz für ein Publikum gibt...

aber dieser Webstuhl ist einfach faszinierend, der Rhythmus ist klasse und die Tänzerinnen sind es sowieso,

also warum nicht ?! 

wieder einmal so eine schöne Herausforderung !

irgendwie geht es dann doch immer und wer etwas sehen möchte, der sieht es auch, 

jedenfalls kam von den zufälligen Besuchern -bei den Proben- schon recht positive Resonanz...immerhin...

perfect

light-design in the forest

...there is not much time left between reading, learning, sewing, teaching and rehearsals, to go out for a walk, but sometimes I find the time, and I  really like it especially at that time when I'm going to 'create' something new; not that I would have any idea, when I'm there...not at all...I just walk and walk, hear all the sounds, enjoy the spicy smell and the nice fresh air on my skin...and just don't think any more about that what I have to do, all becomes quite unimportant...

it's a nice feeling : grounded in a way and also free...

...during my education and also later (as I used to be a ballet-dancer) I was always told, that I have to be perfect - everything else was never enough -and I got so used to these high demands and was trying very hard to be perfect... 

but what is that : perfection ? what's  the definition ? in the forest nothing is "perfect" and it is perfect, because it's just beautiful ... so, who can decide, how things have to be ?

what I've understood in the last years is that it works much better to let things go without using any force or trying too hard -in art and also in that what is connected with our feelings- everything needs time to grow, to develop in a certain direction...

if we have patience everything will come on that place where it wants to be... maybe it won't be perfect, but it'll feel right...

...and if you want to relaxe for a moment...watch this and enjoy ;-)

Palucca

...als ich kürzlich das erste Mal auf Hiddensee war, habe ich dieses Foto gekauft, ich konnte nicht anders, denn Gret Palucca war meine Lehrerin. Sie hatte dort ein kleines Häuschen und verbrachte jede verfügbare Zeit auf dieser schönen Insel.
Nach ihrem Tod (1993) gab es Bestrebungen, in dem Haus ein Museum zu errichten, aber -wie so oft in solchen Fällen- war das öffentliche Interesse wohl nicht groß genug, das Vorhaben ist aus Geldmangel oder aus welchen Gründen auch immer gescheitert und das Haus wurde abgerissen.
Das ist einerseits schade, denn Palucca hätte es verdient, dass es so etwas wie eine öffentliche Erinnerung an sie gibt, andererseits war sie ein sehr bescheidener Mensch, der alles Aufgesetzte abgelehnt hat...vielleicht wäre es gar nicht so sehr in ihrem eigenen Interesse...
Sie war ein ganz besonderer Mensch und alle die sie kannten, werden das nicht vergessen: abgesehen davon, dass sie mit Leib und Seele Tänzerin war ( sie konnte z.B. nur mit den Händen einen Walzer tanzen -da war sie fast achzig- und hat damit atemberaubend eine ganze Bühne gefüllt ), sie ist ganz eigene, neue Wege gegangen...das hat sie auch als Lehrerin vermittelt...das war so anders.
Sie hat uns nicht nur das Handwerkszeug zum Improvisieren gegeben, sondern alle unsere Sinne geöffnet. Ihre Begeisterung für die bildende Kunst und ihr Verständnis vom Zusammenspiel zwischen Musik & Tanz hat uns nachhaltig geprägt; Honegger, Poulenc, Bach, Debussy, Rachmaninow, Liszt oder improvisierte Musik...egal...wir haben bei ihr gelernt zu hören und es gab keinerlei Berührungsängste. Sie hat uns beigebracht unsere Empfindungen zu erkennen und künstlerisch in Tanz umzusetzen; dabei hat sie immer vermieden uns irgend etwas vorzuschreiben, denn sie wollte, dass jeder seine eigene künstlerische Persönlichkeit entwickelt; das ist ihr auch gelungen, denn viele Absolventen ihrer Schule sind hervorragende Tänzer oder Choreographen geworden. 
Ich weiß nicht ob es möglich ist, das alles anhand von Texten und Fotos in einem Museum zu vermitteln.
Letztendlich lebt Palucca in uns, in ihren Schülern weiter.
...ich selbst habe ihr sehr viel zu verdanken und weiß, dass alles was ich von ihr gelernt habe mich ständig begleitet...

Fernweh

nun ja, aus bestimmten Gründen muss ich mich noch eine Weile gedulden,

bis sich der Wunsch, wieder mehr von der Welt zu sehen, erfüllen kann...

aber ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf

...und vielleicht sehe ich dann auch endlich Samarkand...
